Prof. Man WONG Awarded 2021 Slottow‐Owaki Prize

Prof. Man WONG received 2021 Slottow‐Owaki Prize of the Society for Information Display (SID).  The Slottow‐Owaki Prize recognizes outstanding contributions to the education and training of students or professionals in the field of electronic displays.  Prof. WONG is highly regarded in the display industry for his prolific work in the field of thin-film transistors (TFT), roughly 350 out of his total 491 journal and conference publications are related to the technology.

Prof. WONG joined HKUST in 1992.  He currently serves as the director of the university's Center for Display Research and deputy director of the State Key Laboratory of Advanced Display and Optoelectronics Technology at HKUST.  His research interests include advanced device fabrication technology, novel device structures and materials, low-temperature thin-film transistors (TFTs), microelectromechanical systems (MEMS) and microelectronics. 

Prof. Hoi Sing KWOK and Prof. Vladimir CHIGRINOV won the the Slottow‐Owaki Prize in 2013 and 2018 respectively.  Prof. WONG is the third ECE faculty who received the same award.
