Prof. Khaled BEN LETAIEF, Prof. Jun ZHANG and our alumnus Yuyi MAO Wins The 2019 IEEE Communications Society & Information Theory Society Joint Paper Award

Prof. Khaled BEN LETAIEF, Prof. Jun Zhang and our alumnus Yuyi Mao won the 2019 IEEE Communications Society & Information Theory Society Joint Paper Award. The award will be presented in Paris in July 2019 and this is the first time ever that the award was given to authors in the Great China area.  

 

It is a prestigious award given to outstanding papers published in any publication of the IEEE Communications Society or the Information Theory Society within the previous three calendar years.

 

As of May 2019, the paper was consistently ranked as one of the top-10 most popular articles of the IEEE Journal on Selected Areas in Communications (JSAC), whose impact factor is larger than 7, for over 28 consecutive months, and is recognized as an ESI highly cited paper

 

The paper investigates mobile-edge computing (MEC) with renewable energy-powered devices. MEC is recognized as one of the crucial technologies for the upcoming 5G networks as it will provide low-latency computation services at the edge of wireless networks, and will be a major enabler for various applications, including IoT, Smart City, Internet of Vehicles, etc.
